The MAD Festival
We are back and ready to inspire 20 MAD teams of up and coming filmmakers on their journey to “Make a Difference.” The MAD Film Festival is a fundraising event to help the Michael Cuccione Foundation in finding a cure for childhood cancer. We are proud to be the only film festival in Canada where 100% of our profits are donated to the Michael Cuccione Laboratory for Childhood Cancer Research at the Child and Family Research Institute at BC Children’s Hospital. We have raised over $20,000 for the cause, and 2009 will be our biggest year ever! The goal of this festival is to increase the awareness of the individual “Making a Difference” while keeping Michael’s talent and love for the stage and screen alive. The MAD Film Festival is a thrilling filmmaking challenge where teams have 72 MAD hours to complete a 5-minute, edited film. MAD Participants are required to follow a particular criteria, use their own equipment, and be original and creative in their concepts. Are you MAD enough?
